“A 6-WEEK SUMMER PROGRAM WITH INTENSIVE LANGUAGE CLASSES COMBINED WITH LECTURES ON TURKISH HISTORY and CULTURE”
1. Program description
This is a Summer Program of 6 weeks, open to everyone18 and over, interested in learning Turkish language and culture in a short time.
The program offers a perfect blend of Turkish immersion lessons with cultural activities and academic lectures as well as excursions to many places of interest in Ankara and in Turkey on the weekends.
Language classes take place in the mornings, and the afternoons will be filled with lectures and discussions, film-shows, conversation hours and Turkish culture classes e.g. marbling, folcloric music etc.
2. Turkish Classes
Turkish classes may be for Elementary, Intermediate or Advanced Levels. A minimum number of eight participants are required for each group to be opened. Classes are held five days of the week, four hours each day. Participants will be able to complete either A2, B2 or C2 levels in 120 contact hours in 6 weeks and will be issued a Completing Certificate at the end of the program.
Participants who have less time than 6 weeks for attendance may prefer to join the program on a weekly basis, for not less than two weeks.
3. Housing
TAA always assists the participants in finding homestay. Those who do not require to stay with a family may share a house with single people who open their houses to our international students. (Details are given in the ACCOMMODATION heading.)
Apart from these two options we may be of assistance, participants may make use of hostels and private dorms available on the internet.

5. Extra Activities
1. Paid Activities:
a. Academic lectures
Lectures on Turkish history and culture are given by university professors and professionals.
Up to six lectures can be offered. Participants will be given a list of topics right before the start of the program, and will be asked to express their preferences. A lecture can only be held for a minimum number of ten participants.

“A berief review on archelogy in Anatolia & Hitites”
“Turkish folcloric music and traditional instruments”

b.Trips
Tours in Ankara and trips to historical and natural beauties of Turkey are also a part of the program. There will be three organized trips throughout the program, most likely to Istanbul, Cappadocia and Antalya regions. All itineraries will be handed in at the beginning of the program. Just like the lectures, each trip will be realized on demand for a group of minimum ten people.
2. Free Activities
Film-shows in the afternoons, conversation hours and Turkish handicraft courses like marbling and Turkish folcloric music classes are activities that students can participate in for free.
