“A 4-WEEK SUMMER PROGRAM FOR TEENAGERS, 12-17 YEARS” “Immersion with a Turkish family and Outdoor Camping - Learn Turkish & Have fun”
1. Program Description
Specially geared to students from the ages 12-17, our programs give young people the unique opportunity to take a 4 week language course combined with homestay and one week nature camping.
This program offers a perfect blend of Turkish immersion lessons with cultural activities as well as excursions to many places of interest in and around Ankara. Orientation tours in Ankara are also included in the program, and there will be one weekend trip to “Beypazari- old Ottoman houses”
Language classes at school take place in the morning and then the afternoons are filled with activities ranging from drama, Turkish handicraft learning, film-shows, conversation hours with Turkish friends, language games and city tours for the first three weeks.
The last week will be an adventure out-of-town camping with outdoor sports like trekking, hiking, plus barbecues and campfires in the beautiful natural surroundings as the students continue to learn the language.
Parents can be assured that all programmes are fully-supervised and coordinated by a professional team of teachers and monitors. And students can be assured that, as well as making lots of new friends, they will come back with a considerable language skill and unforgottable memories.
2. Turkish Classes
With intensive language classes, students cover A1 level and they are issued a Completing Certificate in the end. Classes are four hours a day and 60 contact hours are completed in three weeks. The lessons emphasize speaking as well as covering all skills of language like reading, writing and comprehension. The practice times like the conversation hours and drama help the students to take a quick grasp of Turkish in a very short time.
All teachers are fully qualified to teach Turkish as a second language. They are all experienced, enthusiastic and great at keeping good relations with young people.
3. Immersion with a Turkish family
Within the first three weeks of the program, the student stays with a Turkish family. Most of the families have children near to the age of the participant. In many of the houses there is a private bedroom, but the participant may also have to share a room with one of the children in the house of the same sex.
Turkish families naturally accept their international visitors as a member of the family. Homestay includes breakfast and dinner, and three meals will be provided on the days when the student can be at home. The families like to share everything with their young guests which will give the participant a great opportunity for immersion in Turkish culture.
4. Camping
Outoor camping is the highlight of the program. One week camping takes place in the natural environment Camkoru National Park, Kızılcahamam area, within one hour distance to Ankara. Students have the opportunity for outdoor activities together with daily Turkish lessons while learning the basic camping skills.

Included in the cost are: Full-board homestay and camping; airport pickup, Turkish classes, course material, orientation tour in Ankara, activities and a trip to Beypazari.
Airport Pickup: At the time of arrival, a driver/program staff member who will be waiting in the airport arrivals hall and will be holding a sign with student's name/program name. All students are then taken directly to the houses. Departing participants are escorted to airline check-in. Beyond passport control, teen participants may only be looked after by airport staff.
